Your phone is a great way for scammers to contact you. While we could block unknown callers, the problem is that more and more legitimate people are calling and texting you – doctors, relatives, the bank, not to mention services that use messages to give you access codes, etc.
Rather than block callers and messages, we’ll share with you tried and true tips to keep you safe.
- Add family and common callers to your contacts, so when they call or message, you see their name and not their phone number.
- You can assign a specific ring tone to contacts, so you can know right off whether a family member is calling (or not!)
- Never ever click on a link that you get in a message – most people will get their phone hacked by visiting an untrusted link!
- What to expect when using Multi-Factor-Authentication with your phone.
- How to answer calls, expecting a scam.
