Scam Vault started as an idea in 2021 as a response to several frantic phone calls and a remote session with our parents. Shortly after, another parent’s PC was ransomed, and not soon after, another fell prey to a Microsoft scam.
We children fancy ourselves technical, patient, and trainable. However, with all that our parents were falling victim to, we realized that the current school of thought was insufficient to keep seniors safe on the internet. While there are “internet safety” programs out there, none of them provide the level of support and caring that us children offer our parents. Knowing that they can call us and ask ‘silly computer questions’ offers a level of support not usually found in the business world.
However, we also know that seniors prefer to be independent, not bother the kids with silly phone calls, and so – we have a conundrum!
We created Scam Vault to provide that support to the seniors out there – to be the voice of reason when the bad actors are trying harder (and succeeding!) more than ever to steal hard-earned cash.
